Fabric stabilizer supports the fabric, keeping it flat and stable during stitching. This helps to eliminate the risks of wavey, puckered, or stretched fabric that can spoil the end results. Different stabilizers offer different benefits. Some focus on firmness while others are softer. Some even melt away completely so that not a single trace is left behind. Tear-a-Way stabilizer is the most common type of stabilizer and simply tears away once the work is complete. Water soluble stabilizers wash away completely — ideal for garments and projects that can go in the washing machine. Cut Away stabilizers stay in the project or garment when the embroidery is finished.
