All 100% cotton fabrics at Suddenly Sewing are perfect for mask making.  We only stock artist quality quilting cottons.  What makes quilt shop fabrics different? Fabrics manufactured for independent quilt shops are printed on higher quality gray goods.  The thread count is higher resulting in a more tightly woven and greater quality end product.  2 layers of quality quilting cotton is ideal for washable, reusable masks.

This section of our website offers a variety of products mask makers are currently using. Masks can be made with either elastic or ties. If you prefer a woven fabric for knit, allow 2 width of fabric cuts per mask: 3-5" of fabric per mask. Masks made with elastic use approx 14" per mask - depending on the particular pattern used.

1 Yard of fabric makes approx 12 super simple masks.  The link for the pattern is below.

If you just want to make a "bandana" sized scarf, you will need approx 2/3rd yards of fabric.  This will provide you with a 24" by 44" of cloth.  You can create (2) 22" square bandana's.

We also have premade kits - which include fabric and elastic and pattern to make an adult sized mask - size medium - fits most adults very comfortably.
